Bondonio's family parcel sits around 350 meters on Roncagliette's steep slope. Roughly 0.5 hectare was planted by massal selection in 1958, joined by about 1 hectare planted in 2010. Compact blue marl with a strong clay component gives the wine its power and mineral density.
Organically farmed Nebbiolo is fermented spontaneously in neutral tank and given an extended maceration, including a submerged-cap phase. Extraction is patient and traditional, building structure from time on skins rather than aggressive cellar handling.
The wine matures for approximately 20-24 months in large, seasoned botti. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered with a restrained sulfur addition, preserving the vineyard's depth and textural character.
A more powerful expression than Starderi, combining red and dark fruit with rose, spice and a pronounced mineral core. The clay-rich site brings firm architecture, joined by fragrance, freshness and unusual precision.
Roncagliette brings old-vine intensity, clay-born power and a lifted, expressive perfume.
