Place & Vines

A small parcel of approximately 40-year-old vines on Starderi's steep slopes in Neive. Compared with Roncagliette, the soils are softer and sandier over blue marl and the site is less exposed, shaping a finer, more immediately aromatic Barbaresco.

Vinification

The wine fermented spontaneously in stainless steel with a pied de cuve and remained on the skins for 60 days. Pumpovers were performed twice daily for the first three weeks, followed by passive extraction under a submerged cap.

Aging

Élevage lasted 20 months in traditional 10-25 hectoliter Slavonian oak botti. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered, with only a restrained sulfur addition.

Profile

Perfumed and finely drawn, with red fruit, floral lift and a savory mineral line. The style emphasizes fragrance, refreshing acidity and gentle tannins, while the long maceration and old vines provide depth for aging.
