Place & Vines
  • A 0.08-hectare Volnay parcel with a southeast exposure.
  • White Argovian limestone gives the site a fine mineral framework.
  • Vines average approximately 50 years of age.
  • Harvested September 14, 2023.
Vinification
  • Fruit was sorted in both the vineyard and cellar.
  • The grapes were fully destemmed and vatted directly.
  • Spontaneous fermentation was followed by a three-week vatting period.
  • No fining was carried out.
Aging Style

Twelve months in oak barrels, with 20% new wood. The modest new-oak proportion supports Volnay's floral perfume, silky texture and fine tannic line rather than adding overt barrel weight.

Wine Profile

Vibrant ruby with garnet highlights. Fresh red fruit and floral aromas lead into an elegant, silky palate framed by fine tannins. The style emphasizes delicacy, freshness and transparent Volnay character.

Key Factors
  • Old-vine Pinot Noir from a very small Volnay parcel.
