Domaine Jessiaume was founded in the village of Santenay, at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, in 1850. The Jessiaume family made the wines for generations; the estate was owned from 2006 by the Scottish businessman Sir David Murray, who sold it in 2020 to Dr Jean-François Le Bigot. William Waterkeyn has led the vineyards and the cellar since the new team arrived in 2014, and stayed on through the change of ownership.

The domaine farms 15 hectares across Santenay, Auxey-Duresses, Beaune, Volnay and Pommard, plus a hectare at Chassey-le-Camp on the Santenay boundary that gives the Bourgogne Les Perrières. The vineyards are certified organic and worked along biodynamic lines; fruit is picked by hand and moved by gravity in the cellar, where fermentations run on indigenous yeasts with minimal sulphur and no routine chaptalization. The domaine states that its aim is elegant, fine wines that respect their terroirs.

Santenay 1er Cru Les Gravières, Santenay Vieilles Vignes and Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru come from domaine parcels. The Volnay and Pommard are bottled under the Maison Jessiaume label, drawn from the domaine’s own small parcels there: 0.08 hectares in Volnay and 0.18 hectares at La Combotte in Pommard.
