Place & Vines

A triangular 0.55-hectare monopole in the heart of Vosne-Romanée, in front of the former winery of the Prince of Conti. The wine remained private to the owning family until Henry-Frédéric Roch acquired the site in 1988.

Viticulture

The domaine farms biodynamically and uses no synthetic products in the vineyard. Work is directed toward healthy, balanced fruit and an unforced expression of each climat.

Vinification

Hand-harvested fruit is fermented as whole bunches with indigenous yeasts. The domaine works without synthetic cellar inputs or added sulfites and uses gravity rather than pumps.

Élevage

The wine is matured in barrel in the same restrained house style used across the range. The producer does not publish a fixed élevage duration or new-oak percentage for this cuvée.

Profile

Exceptionally delicate and continuously curved in texture, with roundness, perfume and subtle length rather than overt force. The domaine calls it a jewel of the range.
