Domaine Prieuré Roch was founded in 1988 by Henry-Frédéric Roch, born into the Leroy family and from 1992 co-director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Based at Prémeaux-Prissey in the Côte de Nuits, the estate farms around twenty hectares across Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot and Nuits-Saint-Georges, and, in the Côte de Beaune, Ladoix and Savigny-lès-Beaune. Since Roch’s death in 2018 the domaine has been led by Yannick Champ, his co-manager since 2010.
No synthetic products enter vineyard or cellar. Grapes ferment as whole bunches on wild yeasts, with pigeage by foot and no added sulphites. Every label carries an Egyptian hieroglyph.
The estate holds three monopole clos, among them the five-hectare Clos des Corvées in Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru and Clos Goillotte in Vosne-Romanée, which the estate records as once the private vineyard of the Prince of Conti, alongside Chambertin Clos de Bèze and Clos de Vougeot Grands Crus. Oenoteca distributes the domaine in the State of Texas.
