Meursault Charmes 1er Cru 2022

The domaine's Charmes comes from Charmes Dessus, positioned between Les Genevrières, Les Perrières du Dessous and Les Combettes in Puligny-Montrachet. The Chardonnay vines average about 65 years old.

The south-east-facing parcel has a clay-limestone terroir with abundant stones at the surface. Its privileged upper-sector position brings the natural amplitude of Charmes together with precision and mineral detail.

The Chardonnay is fermented in oak barrels and aged for one year with 15% new oak. Jobard-Morey's controlled use of new wood supports the wine's breadth while preserving the voice of the old-vine Charmes Dessus parcel.

Broad, silky and layered, with ripe orchard fruit, white flowers, gentle spice and a long mineral finish. Charmes offers the most naturally expansive texture of the three wines, balanced by the stony upper parcel.
