Jobard-Morey

Domaine Jobard-Morey took its present shape in 1949, when marriage united the Jobards, who farmed vines at Meursault, with the Moreys, also vine owners in Burgundy — and their vineyards with them. The estate farms six hectares centred on the village, in the Côte de Beaune, much of it old vines planted by Emile Jobard in the years after the war. Since 2015 it has been led by Valentin Jobard, grandson of the founders, who returned after training in Rully and Marsannay.

Soils are cultivated and the wines are pressed on the domaine’s old Vaslin press, then aged on their lees for about a year in barrel, roughly 15% of it new.

The whites climb from Bourgogne Aligoté and Chardonnay through village Meursault and the lieux-dits Les Tillets and Les Narvaux to two small premier cru parcels — a third of a hectare in Charmes, half a hectare in Poruzot. A short red line runs alongside, up to Auxey-Duresses and a Meursault rouge. The whole range comes from those six hectares.
