Maison A&S

Maison A&S is the micro-maison of Pierre-Alexandre Soltana and Alexandre Aires, two friends who founded it in 2018 while working in other Burgundy cellars and vineyards: Soltana joined Domaine des Comtes Lafon in 2011 as a vineyard worker and became its head of viticulture at the end of 2021; Aires joined Domaine de Bellene under Nicolas Potel in 2011 and spent eight years there, with vinifications in New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and the United States, and is today cellar master at Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair. They began in a seventeenth-century vaulted cellar in Chagny and in 2021 acquired their own winery in Nantoux.

Fruit comes from organically farmed vineyards, hand-picked into five-kilogram cases; the pair also farm their own parcels in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune and Pommard. Vinification: indigenous yeasts, no additives, sulfur only after malolactic and at bottling, then eleven to sixteen months in used 228-litre barrels, followed by a few months in tank before bottling.

Oenoteca imports two wines: Maranges Rouge, Pinot Noir from the southern tip of the Côte de Beaune, and Ysée, a Riesling from a biodynamically farmed plot in Alsace planted in 1972, bottled as Vin de France and named for Soltana’s daughter.
