Poruzot is produced from approximately 70-year-old Chardonnay vines. Only about 30 centimeters of topsoil lies above direct bedrock, creating a very well-drained site with a south-east exposure.
The estate's old vines descend from massal selections maintained across generations. Sustainable vineyard work focuses on living soils, biodiversity and the natural identity of each plot; Poruzot is vinified independently.
Fermentation takes place in oak barrels. The wine then remains in barrel for one year, with 15% new oak. This measured élevage builds depth while allowing the shallow, stony Premier Cru site to remain precise.
Taut and concentrated, with citrus, white flowers and stone-fruit depth carried by a firm mineral line. The shallow soil and direct bedrock favor tension, persistence and a more structured expression of Meursault.
Seventy-year-old vines on shallow bedrock give Poruzot concentration, tension and a long mineral line.
