Coudurier-Jung

Christine Coudurier-Jung and David Coudurier run a family micro-winery on the rue du Faubourg Bretonnière in Beaune, drawing on two hectares of their own vines and purchased grapes from parcels across the Côte and its Hautes-Côtes, from Saint-Romain to Meursault. Their children, Marie and Gabriel, lend their names to two of the house cuvées.

Farming is sustainable and harvests are entirely manual. In the cellar each parcel is vinified separately in stainless steel, barrel or ceramic amphora, moved by gravity, and bottled without filtration and with minimal sulfur; cellar work follows lunisolar cycles. The house also buys barrels at the Hospices de Beaune auction and raises them, for its own account and for private and trade clients.

The Superlune pair — a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir from an undisclosed parcel — is vinified on supermoon cycles and sealed in grey wax: roughly 2,000 bottles of white and 1,300 of red each year. Les Valançons, a whole-cluster Pinot Noir from the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, amounts to 1,000 to 1,500 bottles.
