Place & Terroir

Drawn from clay-limestone terroirs around Saint-Véran in the southern Mâconnais. The combination of limestone, elevation and open exposure supports Chardonnay with ripe fruit, chalky definition and naturally energetic acidity.

Harvest & Pressing

The fruit is picked by hand into small crates and pressed very gently. Faure favors the heart of the press, a restrained approach intended to protect precision and let the differences between Mâconnais sites remain clearly visible.

Vinification & Aging

Fermentation proceeds naturally in older barrels without new oak or cellar inputs. A relatively brief élevage on the lees preserves the cuvée's brightness and energy; an exact duration is not published.

Profile

Ripe pear, acacia blossom and damp chalk shape the nose. The palate is fine and fresh, with measured weight, saline clarity and a long, vibrant finish. The style is both generous and lifted rather than overtly rich.

Pairing & Service

Serve at approximately 10-12°C. A strong match for grilled fish, shellfish, roast chicken, goat cheese, fresh pasta and dishes finished with light cream or beurre blanc.
