Lurëi is grown in Agliano Terme, in the heart of Barbera country. Clay, sandstone marl and sand combine richness with freshness. The wine is associated with the estate's Tenuta Lovetta holdings, a sunny slope whose clay-rich soils favor full-bodied, age-worthy Barbera.
The vineyard work and harvest are carried out manually. The estate focuses on balancing grape quality with the yield of each vine, preserving concentration without losing the natural acidity that defines Barbera from Agliano Terme.
The grapes are destemmed and crushed, then fermented in stainless steel. Following racking, the wine remains in stainless steel for four to six months before moving into its mixed-vessel oak maturation.
The wine matures for twelve to fourteen months in a combination of 30-hectoliter casks and 225-liter barriques. The larger casks protect Barbera's fruit and freshness, while the barriques contribute depth, roasted nuance and texture.
Intense red with violet reflections. Red fruits and balsamic notes are joined by coffee and chocolate. The palate is full-bodied and persistent with excellent acidity. Serve at 16-18°C with red meats and aged cheeses.
Large casks and barriques give Lurëi both fruit clarity and dark-toned depth without sacrificing Barbera's freshness.
