Place & Vines

WK comes from Gatewood Vineyard, Audeant's estate site, perched at elevations reaching approximately 1,100 feet. Planted in 2018 and first harvested in 2024, the vineyard represents a new chapter for the domaine.

Plant Material

The inaugural wine combines Pinot Noir clones 943 and 667 with Coury selection. This varied material is intended to build aromatic complexity, structural precision and a transparent expression of the cool, high-elevation estate site.

Vinification

The fruit was completely destemmed. A cool fermentation proceeded over 16 days with targeted pumpovers and pigeage, balancing careful extraction with the restraint required to preserve perfume, freshness and fine tannin.

Élevage

After fermentation, the wine was drained and pressed directly to neutral French oak barrels. It remained in barrel for 14 months, then was bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve texture and vineyard character.

Profile

A high-elevation Pinot Noir centered on purity, precision and quiet elegance. Cool fermentation and neutral oak place fresh red fruit, floral lift, restrained spice and a finely shaped mineral structure ahead of overt extraction or wood.
